 SYNOPSIS

In order for parents to attend any of the social gatherings at Eden Academy, their children must be Imperial Scholars, but Anya, who hates studying, makes this very difficult. Loid then comes up with a plan to get Anya to get Stella Stars by doing community service rather than her academics. But when he ends up volunteering at a hospital, he’s always doing something. He later uses his telepathy to hear a child drowning in a pool

SUMMARY

Loid sees Anya’s grades and realizes that she failed all the tests. Loid calls out to her, but she tells him she’s busy watching Spy Wars. Yor turns on the lights and Anya tries to run but Loid picks her up so they can go study like they promised at 5 o’clock but Anya starts to get upset. They start studying and Loid scolds her for not being able to spell correctly. Yor joins them and looks at Anya’s test and compliments her on how her score isn’t bad even though she’s still failing.
Loid tries to help her learn idioms by referring to the idioms used in Spy Wars, but Anya only had trouble with the idiom test because she was reading the mind of another student who also failed. In the future, she plans to learn who is the best in each subject so she can read their minds on tests. Loid considers changing her grades in her school records, but realizes that it would be suspicious if she hasn’t seen any real improvement, and believes that her classmates will hate her for her undeserved success. Reading his mind, Anya wonders if it’s a good idea or not to cheat by reading her classmates’ minds and frowns. Loid sees this and wonders if he is being too strict with his studies and decides to switch to drawing instead.
He tries to draw a cow, but it doesn’t go well, so Loid gives up his drawing skills. He tries to get her into music and sports, but she fails miserably at them. While Yor gives Anye a try at skipping rope, Loid ponders his mission and the hope WISE has of getting 8 Stella stars in 4 months. Anya gets tangled in the jump rope, but tells Lloyd she’ll work hard before asking to untangle. Loid asks if she will go somewhere with him tomorrow and she agrees.
The next day, they go to the hospital to do community service in hopes of earning her a Stella Star and helping Anya with her studies. Through his information, Loid knows that Stellas can be honored for long-term community service and heroic deeds, such as lifesaving and police assistance, outside of academic achievement. The sisters assign Loid and Anya to start cleaning the locker room. Anya accidentally breaks two flower pots there, so they are reassigned to clean up the books in the library. However, instead of cleaning, she ends up just reading manga. After a few more jobs, Anya says she’s tired of cleaning and runs off to find the doctor’s office to help the doctor by handing them tools, but ends up running into a nurse.
The nurse yells at the two and excuses them from service. Dejected, they begin to leave the hospital, with Loid wondering how else Anya can get the Stella Star. Ken, a patient at the hospital, walks past them in the hallway with his trainer, heading for the pool. The coach leaves Ken for a moment while he goes to change, and he reaches into the pool to check his temperature, but ends up falling in. His trainer returns, but assumes he’s still changing. Ken, unable to swim, begins to drown in the pool. Anya hears his cry for help through her telepathy and prepares to tell Lloyd, but fears that he will suspect her identity.
Instead, she rushes into the pool herself, declaring that she wants to be a pro-swimmer, and walks past Ken’s coach, who tries to stop her. She frantically looks around for Ken before hearing another call for help and after seeing his air bubbles, she dives into the pool after him. However, Anya can’t swim either, but Loid dives into the pool and saves them both. The adults are shocked that they didn’t notice anything, and Loid explains that if the kids drown, it’s best to watch them around the pool when they make faint noises. Loid and the adults praise her and Ken’s trainer thanks her for coming to his aid.
The next day at school, Anya is awarded Stella’s star for saving Ken’s life. Becky congratulates her on getting the first Stella star in her class, while Damian mocks her for getting one before him. At their home, Ken and his parents thank them for saving their lives. After they leave, Yor hugs Anya and a proud Loid pats her on the head. Anya realizes that she can use her powers to help people and is very happy. Yor declares that she will make a special dinner, but Anya says that she would rather cook Loid, which shocks Yor.
Sylvia and Loid meet in disguise and discuss Anya’s recent Stella earnings. Sylvia brings up the idea of using agents to get more stars, but Loid rejects it as it would look suspicious and endanger the agents. She encourages him to try to get Anya to get as many stars as possible as soon as possible since Donovan Desmond has been making some suspicious financial moves lately.
Anya comes to school proudly with her Stella star on her chest. Several students start talking in awe of how she was the fastest student to get a Stella star. Becky welcomes Anya, who instructs her to call her “Starlight Anya” from now on. Becky states that with this new fame, Anya could probably make 100 friends a day. An image of Damian asking her to be friends and Loid praising her for helping complete his mission appear in Anya’s mind. However, Damian tells her not to get too overwhelmed before leaving, which disappoints Anya.
Becky and Anya head to their classroom, where the students immediately start taunting Anya for wearing her Stella star to class. The other students try to claim that the whole incident was faked and she didn’t deserve Stella’s star. The two girls, looking for support in this, ask Damian what he thinks. However, instead of being supportive, he tells them that Eden Academy is not a third-rate school that hands out Stella stars without merit. The girls anxiously try to take back their words before Damian interrupts by telling them to transfer if they have a problem with Eden. However, these words only hurt Damian because he knows he lost to Anya.
Becky and Anya head to lunch where she asks what Anya got as a reward for getting Stella. Anya thinks she might get peanuts, but Becky makes her think harder and imagines the gifts she got from her father: dresses, tiaras, and a tank. Seeing all of Becky’s gifts scares Anya at the amount of money the Blackbell family has. Anya decides she wants the castle, but Becky tries to get her to downsize her request. Becky raises her pet Wiesel, which makes Anya curious. Anya sees Damian and his gang walking by, so she asks Damian if he has a dog. Damian shrugs the question but Anya reads his mind and sees him playing with his dog Max. Anya imagines getting a dog and tells Damian, prompting him to compare the cuteness of the dogs. Loid and Anya then head to Desmond’s house, where Loid asks Donovan to end this war, and he agrees, achieving world peace.
When Anya arrives home, she tells Loid and Yor that she wants a dog as a reward for her Stella Star. Yor tells Anya that taking care of an animal is a big responsibility, but Loid tells Anya that he’ll give the idea some thought. Loid imagines a guard dog that can protect the home, while Yor imagines a dog that would attack and kill Anya. After reading their thoughts, Anya tells the two that she wants a small, cute dog, causing Yor to imagine a small dog slitting Anya’s throat with a knife in its mouth. Loid decides they should go to the pet store this weekend to see what’s available, and Anya looks up the types of dogs she likes in a book.
Meanwhile, two men discuss selling the dogs they have in their possession. They plan to sell them to some revolutionaries who want to use them as bomb dogs. They examine the dogs and see that some are not doing well. One of the dogs sees a picture of Loid, Anya, and Yor smiling at him, which makes him stand up.
