Spy x Family Season 1 Episode 1: Operation Strix English Dub

After the death of one of their diplomats in a car accident in Ostania, the heads of Westalian Intelligence]] meet to discuss the situation. They believe that it was not an incident, but an assassination by the far-right political party of the East. Believing that they are planning a war against the Westalis and need to know about their plan, one of them suggests that they send their best agent, Twilight. Elsewhere, the investigator provides evidence that the Secretary of State is wearing a toupee when the wind blows her away. Disguised, Twilight takes the pictures and negatives, saying they can force him to resign now, and drives off in the car. Moments later, the real person, Edgar, arrives to take the pictures, so the investigator discovers that he has been “played”. That evening, Twilight disguises herself as “Robert” and has dinner with her date, Karen, who complains that her father was in a bad mood because someone stole his toupee pictures. When she spots a couple in a restaurant proposing her hand, she proposes marriage to Robert, but Twilight, who has no use for her anymore, decides to break up with her. He leaves and discards his fake glasses and “Robert” mask, claiming that he has long since abandoned hopes of marriage and the normal life of a spy.

Twilight is at the train station exchanging papers with a mysterious old man who leaves meowing the secret code for a cipher. Twilight boards the train to Berlinto and reads the given newspaper, revealing a secret message from his WISE organization. They congratulate him on the success of his latest mission and explain that his new mission, Operation Strix, involves National Unity Party leader Donovan Desmond. Since he is a threat to the truce between East and West, Twilight needs to get close to him and investigate any seditious activities. But to achieve this, he will have to get married and have a child. Since Donovan is a cautious man who only appears at social gatherings held at the elite private school his son attends, Twilight will have to enroll her child there and infiltrate the gathering. The deadline for the application is approaching, Twilight has one week to complete it, which shocks Twilight, but in the end she accepts the mission for the sake of a better world.

In Berlint, Twilight wants to buy a family apartment. After inspecting her and finding no wiretaps and good escape routes, he decides to buy her and signs the papers as psychiatrist Loid Forger. Loid then goes to the orphanage with a story about why he needs to adopt, but the owner tells him to take what he wants. Loid says he prefers a kid who can read, and the owner points to Anya because she’s the smartest one there. The owner claims she doesn’t talk much and is a good kid, but in reality she finds her scary and wants to get rid of her. Looking at her, Loid remembers that she has to be over six to enroll. Anya then claims that she is six. Lloyd thinks she’s a little short, but Anya then tries to make her taller. Anya takes the crossword puzzle. Loid believes that it would be difficult for her and starts doing a crossword in her mind. Anya then shows him the crossword, all solved, which surprises him. She gets excited that she passes the exam easily and decides to adopt her. In fact, Anya is telepathic, can read minds, and is thrilled to be with the spy.

Loid returns home and tells her that she has to say that she was always his daughter and call him father. Anya enters their apartment, turns on the TV and sees Spy Wars, declaring it to be her favorite show. Loid needs to get some things for her and fake an ID, so he says he’s going out, but Anya insists she go with him. Outside, Anya quickly becomes lost in the crowd, and the woman tells Lloyd to hold his daughter’s hand to keep her close. Loid holds her, thinking it will be difficult for him to prepare for an enemy attack, and since Anya can read minds, he panics and goes into hiding. In order to achieve his mission and keep the peace, Loid thinks he needs to start understanding her and having a good relationship with her. Hearing this, Anya says she likes peanuts but not carrots. She then says she likes crispy bacon, points to the sign, but Loid corrects her that it’s a bakery and they don’t sell bacon. Anya tries to buy a Spy Wars poster for 10 pence, but Loid states that it costs 1 dal. Loid begins to wonder if Anya is actually stupid and that the crossword puzzle was a fluke, and contemplates having another child. Anya then starts crying and begs him not to get rid of her. When she causes a scene, he offers to buy her peanuts and she calms down. Anya falls asleep before heading home, and a completely stunned Loid goes to the library to borrow books on raising children.

The next day, Loid wants to test Anya’s smarts with some homework, but she refuses to learn. Angry, Loid goes outside and tells her to stay home. Anya keeps trying to follow him, but he finds her easily. To keep her at home, he ends up barricading the front door. Loid meets Franky Franklin, who gives him an application form, an exam ticket, and a copy of the exam. Franky then gives him all the information he could find on Anya, but all he found was from last year when she was adopted four times and returned each time.

Bored, Anya remembers that Loid locked up all his spy gear and goes to play with him. When she finds the transmitter, she inadvertently sends a message to Edgar, pretending to be Twilight and taunting him to find her. Upon returning home, Loid notices that the front door barricade has been moved. He is ambushed as he enters, but manages to defeat his attackers. Unable to find Anya, he concludes that she was kidnapped while he was compromised. As he thinks about escaping and starting over, a man attacks Lloyd from behind.

The men bring Anya to Edgar, who decides to use her as a hostage to get Twilight to steal the obtuse Secretary of State. One of the men suggests they give up the blunt, but Edgar shoots him, explaining that transparency is essential in government and the minister is a traitor who secretly supports the West. The rest of the men return after capturing Twilight. Edgar then removes the bag from Twilight’s head, but sees that it is his man, Nguyen, and the fake Nguyen is gone along with Anya. As Loid runs with Anya, she begins to cry. Loid remembers how he hates children crying because it reminds him of his own past when he was alone and helpless, all he could do was cry. After getting out of the building, he explains that he is playing a game of tag. He then gives her a ticket and tells Anya to run to the police. Loid doesn’t think he failed as a spy, but he made a mistake by putting a little girl in danger, and he regrets forgetting that he became a spy to create a world where children don’t have to cry. Loid then returns to the building and sets up traps. As Edgar and his men arrive and activate the traps, flour is released everywhere and Loid takes them one by one. She then points a gun at Edgar’s head and asks him how Karen is, causing Edgar to wonder how she knows his daughter’s name. Loid explains that he is a spy and knows everything. Loid then threatens Edgar to leave him alone if he wants Karen to have a normal life.

Loid walked out of the building and saw Anya waiting for him. When she comes to him, he acts like he doesn’t know anything and wonders why he’s out of the house. Anya explains that she was playing tag with some old guys, but she was a little scared and wants to go home. Remembering that she was returned every time after adoption, Loid agrees to take her, but explains that they have to change apartments because they found a snake in theirs. He tells her that she will have to study but he has the answers so she just needs to memorize them.

On the day of the exam, Anya tries to read the other kids’ minds, but they all panic because none of them know the answers. Then she remembers what she studied with Lloyd and writes it down. After the exam, he and Anya look at the board with the students made up and Loid sees Anya on the list. Happy about it, he relaxes and all the exhaustion hits him as he falls to the ground.

At home, Loid is passed out on the couch. The postman comes and Anya takes the letter from him. She tries to give it to Lloyd, but since he doesn’t respond, she ends up lying next to him. Loid woke up, surprised that he had fallen asleep in front of someone. Anya then gives him a letter and after reading it, Loid learns that the second stage of the admissions process is a family interview and both parents must be present.
